The trouble with comparing Macs and PCs

The biggest problem in trying to reason with either side of the on going argument is a lack of education or research into either product. They are built from the same hardware, from the same manufacturers, Nvidia, ATI, MSI, Intel, AMD just to name some of the papular ones. If you were to build two computers with the exact same hardware only install a Mac OS on one and windows on the other, they would act completely differently. Their is absolutly no difference in quality in the hardware, only how the operating system utilizes it. So the argument that Macs are of higher quality is invalide. Just because you pay more for a product doesn’t mean you are getting a beter product. Macs tend to be built with Intel CPUs and chipsets and Nvidia GPUs and chipsets. But this is good, it limits compatibility issues but they are the more expensive companies. On the other hand, AMD and ATI work together just as well, but tend to be much lower in cost. But there is no loss in quality, just different features, different ways of building a product.

The argument between Macs and PCs will never be resolved unfortunatly. The efforts should be put into understand whats inside that little box under your desk. I think if people spent a little more time learning about their computer, not just how much RAM you have, but why it’s important. How everything comes together and works of each other in perfect harmony. It’s nice to have a product put together ready to go for you, but what happens when you don’t understand and error message? or when you can’t locate a file or folder and how to recover it.

We all know we live with technology every day, we deal with it every minute, we work with it, we play with it. If people understood more about computers and how they work we wouldn’t have arguments between Macs and PCs and PS3 vs the xbox 360.

I’m not calling you all dumb.

No I am, if you have to argue about it and don’t understand the product, you’re an idiot.
